3/31 - The Hidden One

This 30" x 24" original acrylic painting catches the gaze of a fungus-like dryad, secretly watching the happenings of the forest from an ancient tree. This piece was inspired from a unique fungus that was discovered on a walk in Normandy Park, Washington.

Copious amounts of modeling paste were utilized to conjure the intense texture of this mysterious beauty. Impressionistic brush strokes and palette knife techniques breathed life into this hidden dryad. Metallic mediums were applied in specific areas to create a sense of magick.
