1/48 - Evolution

This 22" x 22" original acrylic mixed media painting depicts a dryad evolving from seed, stretching her roots into the ground and sprouting blackberry seedlings from her head. Her jovial smile shines in the light of the sun as she transforms into her new form.

Copious amounts of modeling paste was utilized to sculpt the seedlings and the roots of this earthly fae. A multitude of brush stroke and palette knife techniques were used to create the various textures discovered within the work. Metallic mediums adorn specific elements surrounding the dryad to being a sense of magick to this creation.
