1/51 - Wake Up Call

This 30" x 24" original acrylic painting captures the moment a dryad wakes with a gleeful shout that Spring has begun. Since the dandelion is the first food for bees in the start of the season, this flower was chosen to inspire this Springtime beauty.

This piece was created with copious amounts of modeling paste to enhance the texture and depth in this flower sections of this beauty. Some elements of her 'hair' (petals) extend off the canvas by about two inches. Palette knife and Impressionistic brush stroke techniques were used to enhance the details within the work. Metallic mediums were utilized in a few places to add a sense of magick.
