5/31 - Magick In The Water

This 30" x 24" original acrylic painting captures the moment a nymph briefly surfaces between lily pads that adorn her watery abode. The concept and colors within this creation were inspired by a late summer trip to Lake Sammish in Washington State last year while kayaking on the lake.

This piece was created using copious amounts of modeling paste to extend the lily pads of the edges of the canvas while creating textures. Palette knife techniques and impressionistic brush strokes were used to conjure this painting. Metallic mediums were used in a few places to give
an element of magick to this mysterious beauty.
